Despite the rainy start to the day yesterday, the 2nd Annual CCS 5K and Kids Fun Run was a huge success! The race more than doubled in size from last year with 157 participants. The rain stopped in time for the children to run in the Flash Dash, 1/4 mile, and 1/2 mile Fun Runs.

Marty Janning was the overall winner of the 5K. Lori Gehrking was the top female finisher.

5K Race Begins: 8:30 a.m. Kids Fun Run: 9:15 a.m.

Awards Ceremony and Belgian Waffle Feed to Follow at CCS

Fun Runs: 4th Grade and younger. 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile, and Flash Dash options.

Chip Timing: The 5K race will be electronically timed by Pickle Events.

Glacial Lakes Running Series Event: This 5K race has been added to the Glacial Lakes Runnings Series. For more information, please visit: Pickle Events.

Refreshments: Water, sports drink, and fruit will be provided for all participants.

Awards: Medals will be awarded as follows:
Top overall 5K Male/Female Finishers
Top five M/F in the following 5K divisions:
8 and under, 9 – 10, 11- 12, 13 – 14, 15- 16, 17 – 19
Top M/F in the following 5k divisions: 20- 29, 30 – 39, 40- 49, 50 – 59, 60+

T-shirts: Pre-registered 5K participants will receive performance running shirts.

All Fun Run participants will receive t-shirts.

Limited shirts may be available for race day registrants.

The 2nd annual CCS 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run will be held on October 8, 2011. The race will start at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids Fun Run starting at approximately 9:15 a.m. The CCS 5K has been added to the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series. After the race Dad’s Belgian Waffle Feed will be held inside Community Christian School.
